The new websites of Zoo, Aquarium and Tierpark Berlin have been online now since 14 April 2015. Zoo Berlin AG worked meticulously on it's website with an internet and SEO agency for almost a year. The results are there to be seen: The institutions are now represented online with fully revised websites in terms of the visual aspects, content and structure.
Our internet presence can now be characterized by its user-friendliness, the so-called "user experience", thanks to its modern design, emotive pictorial elements and easy navigation. This gives off a contemporary impression with ease of movement and cheerful colours. The distinctive user-friendliness of the website is also down to the large images and fonts as well as innovative menu selection. Actually visiting the website itself is a unique experience for the visitor.
The following elements have been newly integrated:
• Interactive site maps for the Zoo and Tierpark Berlin – there are of course printable versions.
• A separate tab with all current species conservation projects of the Zoo, Aquarium and Tierpark.
• Press area with ZIP files for download as well as general image material for editorial purposes.
• Of course, the social media channels should not be forgotten: Prominent links to Facebook, Instagram & Co. as well as a blog expand our range of online services.
• The new online donation module makes supporting the Zoo, Aquarium and Tierpark a breeze.
• Sponsorships can be completed easily online using our new form.
• Another new feature is the animal glossary with profiles and many facts about the residents of the Zoo and Tierpark.
• As of now, job postings and detailed information about traineeships etc. are available online.
• New FAQs.
Each of these websites is composed of almost 90 completely redesigned subpages. These can be navigated through using seven main menu points and eight menu points in the footer at the very bottom of the page. The agency also developed both a desktop/tablet version (responsive) as well as a scaled-down smartphone version with the most important information for a Zoo visit for each of the new websites. A lot of attention was especially paid to the responsive web design, so that the website was capable of reacting to the requirements of each device with which it was viewed. After all, around half of the visitors to the websites of the Zoo, Tierpark and Aquarium access them using mobile devices. The professional SEO optimization was also a central matter during the redesign so as to ensure the best possible visibility in search engines such as Google. The websites are currently available in German and English.
