Drawing at the zoo
07. June15:30 - 17:00Zoo Berlin, Meeting point in front of the Servicecenter at the Löwentor entranceorganized by the Department of Culture Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
Accompanying the exhibition Zobra, the view of animals, a free drawing course with the artist Katrin Hoffert will be held: Drawn representations of animals have been part of being human since the Stone Age and continue to do so to the present. On weekly dates we will visit the different houses and enclosures, training our observing skills with many quick movement sketches. We look for the large shapes, the proportions and body axes and how they are determined by the skeletal construction that all vertebrates from mice to humans to elephants have in common.
Drawing boards and materials are provided, or you can draw in your own sketchbook. Those who prefer to draw sitting down should bring a small folding stool.
Katrin Hoffert studied fine arts at the UdK-Berlin, her work has been awarded various prizes and exhibited internationally. She has many years of experience as a lecturer for painting and drawing at the VHS-Pankow and supervises drawing groups at schools and youth art schools.
Note on course fee:
