Roaringly good fun during the holidays at Zoo Berlin

Zoo and Aquarium Berlin once again have an exciting programme for all school children during this years summer holiday. Keen architects, big explorers and resourceful detectives will be right at home here! There is a total of three different programmes: from building an insect hotel to exciting treasure hunts through all corners of the Zoo up to a voyage of discovery through Africa.

Build a hotel for the Aquarium insects!

The creepy-crawlies: Insects are the smallest inhabitants in the Aquarium – strictly speaking, even the Zoo complex as a whole – and the focus will be on them on 23 July as well as 6 and 24 August. Under the supervision of a Zoo school guide, children between the ages of 10 and 12 have the chance to build a hotel for the nimble arthropods, take part in a guided session through the various insect worlds of the Aquarium and learn all there is worth knowing about this amazing multi-faceted species group.

The programme takes place on each event day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs 30 euro per child including entry. The Infopoint at Hardenbergplatz 8 is the meeting point.

Off to Africa!

Where exactly is the origin of humankind? How do lions, giraffes & co. live in the wild? And what do African children do in their free time?

Young adventurers can get all their kicks on 27.July, 13. and 20. August from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Africa programme allows children aged between 8 and 12 years to gain an insight into the animal kingdom and the culture of this diverse continent. The crowning glory is a handicraft course where you can make typical African jewellery from natural materials.

The Adventure Africa tour starts at the Infopoint at Hardenbergplatz 8. It costs 30 euro per child including entry.

Who'll Find the Treasure?

It will be the seventh time now that Zoo Berlin has invited guests to take part in the summer animal treasure hunt:For 7 euro plus entry, you start at the Löwentor entrance, criss-crossing the grounds – past inhabitants and visitors undertaking your detective work for you very own "Animal treasure". You'll have to solve exciting animal puzzles and pass fun games on your way. A true "animal surprise" awaits all young hunters at the end of the tour.

The treasure hunt is suitable for children aged between 8 and 12 years, lasts about 1.5 hours and starts on 16, 20 and 30 July as well as 3, 10, 17, and 27 August at 2 p.m.
