Hans in Luck petting zoo

This picture-book scene creates the sort of quaint, rural atmosphere many city dwellers long for. Based on the theme of the Brothers Grimm fairytale Hans in Luck, Zoo Berlin’s petting zoo welcomes children and their parents to an idyllic countryside setting.

Across an area of almost 3,500 m2, visitors are invited to befriend not only the cow that Hans exchanges for a horse in the story, but also sheep, ponies and goats. Plus, there is an 800 m2 inner courtyard where visitors can pet the farm animals. And when our furry friends have had enough of all the fuss, they can simply wander back to their secluded rest areas.
