Quite the petite pair

Two lowland anoas from Chester Zoo moved in with us at the beginning of the year.

The male is called Teal’c and will turn 22 in just a few days; the female is called Oana and is ten years younger. She is also much smaller, as is always the case with female anoas.

Anoas are the smallest of all living wild cattle. They stand at a shoulder height of under a metre and weigh a maximum of 300 kilos – which isn’t much for a cow!
