As part of a global network, Zoo and Tierpark Berlin have been helping endangered species for decades, initiating a range of conservation projects around the world. The gorilla family at Zoo Berlin, which include Sango, Bibi and little Tilla, are ambassadors for their relatives in the wild whose survival is threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and the effects of climate change.
In line with the principle “Think global, act local”, we are calling on school pupils to submit their own ideas for ways to protect biodiversity. The best entries will be awarded a Biodiversity Prize as part of the Berlin World Wild conservation programme.
