A life in pictures: Three years of Pit and Paule

It is now almost three years since Zoo Berlin welcomed its panda twins Pit and Paule – the first pandas ever to be born in Germany.

After a gestation period of 147 days, the first cub was born at 6:54 p.m. – and the second came along a little under an hour later.

On Wednesday our Panda brothers celebrate their third birthday. The keepers have decided to honour the day with a special treat. They will be presenting their little surprise to the adolescent bears at 9:30 a.m. In the meantime, you can enjoy this video looking back at the past three years of Pit and Paule – from the first time they opened their eyes to their first unsteady steps, their first time clambering over obstacles, and the time they finally got to grips with their bamboo diet. Enjoy!
