Do pandas hibernate?

Most bears eat a lot in the autumn so they have plenty of fat reserves for their big winter sleep. But not pandas! Their staple food – bamboo – gives them such little energy that they have to keep eating all year round. Our panda brothers Pit and Paule now weigh around 34 kilos each. They are on view to visitors every day here at Zoo Berlin.
