The newcomer has settled in well in his new home – which probably has a lot to do with his accommodating housemate. The two otters hit it off immediately and are now spending lots of time playing, cuddling, and generally wanting to be close to one other.
That’s no great surprise, as small-clawed otters are much more sociable than other otter species. They communicate via sound and smell – and clearly these two are on the same wavelength!
