Amur Tiger
Panthera tigris altaica
Tigers rule the taiga
The Amur tiger is the world’s biggest feline predator – all related tiger species are smaller. But its size isn’t the only thing that sets it apart from other tigers, its habitat does too. This is the only tiger that lives in snow. It needs vast stores of energy to survive in the cold climate of the taiga. To keep those stores replenished, an Amur tiger needs to eat 9 to 10 kilograms of meat per day
