The Carnival of the Animals
Music like you’ve never heard it before
C. Bechstein presents The Carnival of the Animals!
The chunky black rhino chews contentedly on juicy grass, the giraffes stretch their necks in curiosity, and the loud cries of the apes and monkeys resound throughout the zoo. The noises of Zoo Berlin blend in perfectly with beautiful orchestra music and make for a remarkable auditory experience.
On the occasion of Zoo Berlin’s 175th jubilee, C. Bechstein presents a classical concert set against a unique backdrop. The ensemble – which includes stars of Berlin’s classical music scene such as Konstantin Manaev (cello), Michael Mordvinov (grand piano), Sabine Grofmeier (clarinet), Danai Dörken (grand piano) and young musicians from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin – will perform The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns, in close proximity to okapis, zebras and sea lions. A trio of cello, piano and violin will also play pieces by Pablo de Sarasate, Dmitri Shostakovich, Astor Piazzolla, and more.
