The Earth is home to countless animal and plant species, but this diversity is under threat: humans are currently causing the greatest extinction of species since the end of the dinosaurs. This crisis is caused by humans, and they are now the only species that can save the unique wilderness on planet earth. The conservation programme of Zoo and Tierpark Berlin – “Berlin World Wild” has launched a new scholarship programme. This scholarship was designed to support young conservationists and scientists with a concrete connection to the long-term protection of endangered species and habitats. The selected fellows will not only receive financial support but will also have the chance to give their projects more visibility.

The international scholarship programme honours people who show extraordinary commitment to the protection of endangered species and habitats. The aim of this programme is to support meaningful research and effective conservation or education projects and thus contribute to thriving wilderness.

A jury will select the final fellows. Closing date for entries is February 28th, 2023.
