Current Restrictions
Like at any modern zoo, work at Zoo Berlin is never really done. We are constantly trying to improve the zoo to make it a better place and more beautiful for animals and visitors alike. That is why you may come across construction work during your visit. Below you can find information on current construction projects and other restrictions.
Construction works in the Aquarium
In the course of a general modernization, there are construction works in the Aquarium that cause restrictions – the following areas are affected currently:
- The street entrance of the Aquarium is closed. The Aquarium can only be entered via the Zoo permises. During this time, combined tickets are required to visit the Aquarium. Individual tickets for the Aquarium are currently not available. Please also note the signage on site.
- Unfortunately, no guided tours or workshops can be offered at the Aquarium currently. Only the animal encounters with the sharks continue to take place. There are no restrictions on the guided tour program at Zoo and Tierpark Berlin. Please find further information here or here.
- Around half of the ground floor is closed. This affects several tanks, but not all of them (for example, the shark tanks are open as usual). The first and second floors – the home of reptiles, insects and amphibians – are open as usual.
Please note that restrictions may change at short notice
