The lush Panda Garden is almost ready for moving day

Panda pair Meng Meng and Jiao Qing land in Berlin on Saturday 24 June. Although the bears will spend a period of quarantine indoors until 5 July, their large outdoor habitat is already finished – complete with climbing apparatus, an artificial stream, and plenty of greenery. The visitor fences have also been erected.

Meanwhile, around 25 construction workers are still busy in and around the Panda Plaza, laying the final tiles and finishing off the roof of the Chinese Pavilion. They are joined by a number of gardeners and technicians, who are installing the plants and technical equipment.

No one doubts that everything will be ready on time!
