Bird’s eye view of the panda building site
The view from about 30 metres above the building site is particularly interesting. From the top of the crane you can see what will soon be the male panda’s den (the grey square filled with foam glass gravel). You can also see the outlines of the other stable buildings, including the female panda’s den, the panda kitchen, the veterinary clinic and the zoo keepers’ changing rooms.
The rounded corner of the stable building will be the side of the building facing the visitor’s plaza. The formwork for the plaza’s concrete pillars in front of the stable are also visible on the picture as small, red and brown striped turrets.
All project partners meet up once a week to review progress and discuss current issues such as how the foundations are progressing and the materials used.
